Career and Technical Education
GCCAS offers a variety of CTE and certificate programs. Our school partners with the Personnel Commissions of both LAUSD and the City of Los Angeles to provide training in Office Technician, Buildings and Grounds, Maintenance Supervision, and Maintenance Laborer fields. Upon completion of the required number of hours the student is granted a certificate verifying completion of the course. Certificates in Maintenance Supervision, Building and Grounds Fundamentals, and Office Technician courses qualify the student to sit for the District promotional exam in these areas. A certificate in Maintenance Laborer qualifies the student to apply as maintenance worker for the City of Los Angeles.
Upholstery classes offered both during the week and on Saturday allow students to learn a new skill or hone current skills in a field that provides both career opportunities for some and a leisure time hobby for others.
The many technology based courses we offer can be taken for high school elective credits, to learn a new career skill, or improve and upgrade current skills. We offer instruction in such diverse areas of technical training as Computer Repair, Computer Literacy, Introduction to the Internet, Keyboarding and Data Entry, and Web Page Design. All courses are taught by highly trained, skilled instructors.
